Fonoteca Juan León Mariscal
We are so grateful to be able to collaborate with the Juan León Mariscal Sound Library each year. Thanks to the support of its director, Ricardo Rodys, and the Alfredo Harp Helú Foundation, we have been able to perform concerts in its venue for each edition of the festival.
The Juan León Mariscal Sound Library, as part of the Alfredo Harp Helú Oaxaca Foundation, is an institution focused on the dissemination of sound and the study of this area in Oaxacan culture.
Juan León Mariscal was born in Oaxaca on August 29, 1895. He was a cellist, composer, pedagogue, and poet. This distinguished Oaxacan musician won the gold medal at the Prelude and Fugue Competition in Germany in 1924, where he studied at the Stern Conservatory in Berlin. He founded the magazine Arte, taught music classes in elementary schools in Mexico City, and served as an inspector in the School Music Section of the SEP (Spanish Public Education Ministry). He also taught at the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico and the Free School of Music, and was a researcher at the National Institute of Fine Arts. He died in Mexico City on September 21, 1972.

UNIVERSIDAD VASCONCELOS

We are grateful and honored to once again collaborate with the Universidad Vasconcelos (UNIVAS) in Oaxaca for our sixth edition. As a festival with a mission and commitment to both artistic and pedagogical excellence, the collaboration with an organization whose vision aligns with that of our SA'OAXACA community has been extremely important for all participants and our team. Being able to carry out all academic activities on the beautiful UNIVAS campus has been a joy for our students, teachers, and festival staff.
UNIVAS's mission is to be part of an educational system of academic excellence that produces competent and innovative professionals with an ethical and humanistic sense of purpose, who are aware of their cultural identity and recognize their surroundings to contribute to sustainable economic, political, and social development.
Thank you, UNIVAS, for your support and collaboration!

QUINTA REAL OAXACA
We're thrilled to collaborate with a new concert venue for our sixth edition! Thanks to Camino Real Hotels, we'll be able to share two festival concerts, including our closing concert, with the Oaxacan audience at the Quinta Real Oaxaca.

Thank you for your support of Mexican arts and culture! Our students and artists of the SA'OAXACA festival are deeply grateful!

Quinta Real Oaxaca possesses the architectural value of the beautiful Santa Catalina de Siena Ex-Convent, located in the heart of the majestic city of Oaxaca, founded by Fray Domingo de Betanzos in the 16th century. In 1998, it was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO for more than four centuries of history housed in its interior.

ESPACIO LUVINA

We are excited to partner with Espacio Luvina for our sixth edition! Our teachers and participants enjoy a welcoming, vibrant, and artistic atmosphere with Oaxacan food throughout the two-week festival. Thanks to their collaboration, our participants and teachers enjoy a discount on all food and beverages available at the café. Espacio Luvina is a Oaxacan coffee shop, featuring 100% Oaxacan coffee from producers in the northern mountains of Oaxaca. We also have an extensive menu of breakfasts, snacks, and lunches, always meticulously prepared with quality. Visit us, enjoy our outdoor patio, and check out our small shop selling Oaxacan goods. Don't forget to grab a coffee to go!
